Kids Karting Club - Nearly every Formula one driver started off racing karts - who knows, you might be next to live the dream. Kart racing is a great way for juniors to learn the disciplines of motor sport and gain driving experience in a safety-conscious environment.

At Q Leisure, juniors can take part in open practice and training sessions to gain their race licence. All race licence holders can take part in the Kids Karting Championship held on our 800m outdoor race circuit.

Race Licence Induction - On joining the Club, the children will be walked round the track, then will spend some time watching video footage of how to drive the karts. Qualified instructors will then take them through the mechanics of driving, including how to take turns bend by bend, and overtake with the correct use of drivelines.

In order to gain their race licence, the children will need to satisfy the instructors that they are 'safe to race'. Passing a simple but important examination, and having consistent timed laps, are the final steps to gaining their race licence. Two to three sessions are recommended to complete a full induction and gain the race licence. Fast-track one to one tuition is also available for children with previous experience.

The Championship - There will be Summer and Winter Championships; dates and results will be listed on thisr web page. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be presented at each meeting and a special prize awarded to the overall Champion.

Only four results out of the six races run will be taken - the lowest results will be dropped. If your points score is tied with another driver, lap times will be taken into account, but remember - getting black flags means that points can be lost. Extra rounds may also be added to the Championship in school holidays or evenings so all drivers can get enough races under their belts to be in the running for the Championship.

Championship Day: Arrival - Safety Briefing (track open for walks) - Practice session for all drivers - Four race heats - Grand Final - Trophy Presentation

All drivers must have a Q Leisure race licence to take part in the Championship.
